My Menu Project
Congratulations! You are now the owner of your own cafe! Your first order of business is to come up with a creative name for your restaurant that is unique to you. Then you will need to create a menu for your daily specials, which will include a breakfast, lunch and dinner each consisting of healthy foods from all of the food groups. You will also need to include a healthy snack that includes foods from at least two food groups!
You can use all resources on this website and the Internet to help you plan your meals. The My Menu Planner Worksheet must be completed before you start creating you menu, which will be done in Google Draw.
Read the criteria below to help guide you in the creation of your menu. You can also click here if you would like to see a list of foods found in each of the food groups to help you create your meals. Download the file below to see a sample menu project.
Criteria:
1. Your menu must have a creative title that is unique to you. Example: Kay's Kitchen
2. Your menu must include three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and each meal should have an "appetizing" description.
3. Each of your three meals must have at least one food from each of the 5 main food groups; grains, meats/protein, vegetables, fruits and milk/dairy.
4. Each meal should have an image that represents the meal as closely as possible.
5. Your menu must also include a healthy snack with foods form at least two food groups. You can find these online or in many magazines and cookbooks.
6. Your menu design must be attractive to the eye and should not distract from the information being presented.
